About:
Sharlin Design is an independent design practice started in 2019. I combine my experience working on a diverse set of projects to offer design services to a wide set of clients on projects ranging from designing a brewery in Ireland to a strawbale home in Maryland.
Jake Sharlin Morris is an Architectural Designer with a Masters of Architecture from the University of Maryland, a Professor of Architectural Software + Design at Montgomery College, and a native of D.C.
Having worked in a variety of architecture outfits ranging from conservation in southern Mexico to designing laboratories at the National Institutes of Health I have come to value the universal language of architecture and the seemingly infinite possibilities of its application to the diverse environments and cultures all around the globe.
From working on different scales of projects such as custom furniture to large master plans, I believe the success of a design lies not only within the most minute details of a project but within its grander functions in the overall system within which it is placed, whether it’s a bustling metropolis or tranquil forest.
I’m a big fan of traveling and sketching what I see along the way. As a surfer, whitewater kayaker, and rower, I can’t stay away from the water for long. I love to experience the many ways one can see this world and look forward to discovering more!
